The rule that matters most
Your email, phone and messaging handles are never shown to another member — and never sent to their browser — until you accept a connection request from them. Accepting is symmetric: you both see each other’s details at the same moment. A channel you mark hidden stays hidden even then.
An AI match never unlocks anything. Matching runs overnight and neither party has seen it, so it can suggest an introduction but never make a disclosure.
What we hold
- Your name and email address, to sign you in and notify you.
- Your company profile, services and buying needs — all visible to other members, and company name and logo also on our public homepage.
- Your contact channels, private until you share them.
- Connection requests you send and receive, including any note.
- Searches you run, which we use to see what members want and cannot find.
- Standard server logs.
Lawful basis
Contract for everything needed to operate your membership — your profile, connections and sign-in.
Legitimate interests for the matching and aggregate analytics that keep the marketplace useful, and for preventing abuse. You can turn off all non-essential email from your settings at any time; sign-in links are always sent because you asked for them.
AI and third-party processors
We read your company’s public website to draft your profile. We crawl only a URL you submitted for your own company, or one an administrator entered — never speculatively.
Processors we use, and what each sees:
- Anthropic (Claude) — the crawled public text of your site, to draft your profile.
- Voyage AI — your service and buying-need text, to build the vectors that power search and matching.
- Firecrawl — the URL of your site, to fetch its public pages.
- Resend — your email address and the content of notifications we send you.
None of them is given another member’s contact details, and none is permitted to use your data to train their models.
How long we keep it
Your profile and connections for as long as you are a member. Search history and server logs are kept for a rolling twelve months. Aggregate counts that identify nobody may be kept indefinitely.
Export and deletion
Write to hello@relavo.org and we will export everything we hold about you, or delete it. Deletion is completed within two weeks of your request, including from backups.
Deleting your company removes its profile, services, buying needs and contact channels. Connection requests you sent are removed from the other party’s history too. Where a member already has your contact details because you accepted their request, we cannot retrieve what they have kept — that is between the two of you.
Your other rights
You can ask us to correct anything inaccurate, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis. Most corrections you can make yourself by editing your profile.
If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first — and you are entitled to complain to your local data protection authority regardless.
Where your data lives
Relavo runs on servers in the EU. Some processors listed above operate outside the EEA; those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses.
